Loved Irene's. We had an awesome dinner from appetizer to desert. Loved the ambiance and had a great waiter, AJ. We walked in for a Thursday night dinner after original plans in the quarter got rained out. No problem. Easy to get a table. Our waiter went over the specials, of which we ordered two. I got the turtle soup and ossobuco. Shari V got the pompadour salad and a seafood pasta dish. We also split the oyster's Irene and a slice of cheesecake. The meal started slow and got stronger as the night went on. We kind of enjoyed the oyster's Irene, salad and turtle soup. Definitely not my favorite turtle soup. The base was a little strong, slightly darker than I prefer. Still decent. I would pass on the oysters Irene. The entrees were killer. My ossobuco was excellent. Served with a side of creamy rissotto. Complemented the meat perfectly IMHO. I ate until I was stuffed and then had a few more bites. Shari V's dish was equally good. She ate almost every bite. I forgot the details of her dish. To end the night, we had a slice of cheesecake. AJ our server said it was life changing...definitely better than Sara Lee. This cheesecake was pretty damn good. I do not really like cheesecake and I loved this cheesecake. We were both full from the entrees, but not a crumb of that cheesecake went to waste. We were stuffed and happy. Total success. So the food at Irene's Cuisine is a solid 4/5. I thought between the great service and cool ambiance, that Irene's deserved a 5 star review. We definitely will repeat.
