After a long walk around Carnegie Branch Library for Local History, come to this restaurant and have a rest here. The menu of Japanese cuisine is to the pleasure of all guests here. Most visitors mark that you can try mouthwatering sushi, salmon sashimi and grilled beef here. Cooks at Izakaya Amu do their best to provide visitors with good ice cream, pancakes and panna cotta. Delicious beer will make your meal tastier and you'll certainly come back. A lot of people suppose that you can have good tea at this place.

This spot is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Prices are found attractive here. You will definitely appreciate the peaceful atmosphere. But the general rating for this restaurant isn't high on Zomato.

This place is hands down, one of my favorite spots in Boulder. It's nice to go to the sushi bar for a romantic evening, but it's also nice to go with a smaller group for a celebration. Every time I've been, the staff has been amazing, and the food is always on point. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the buckwheat noodle hot pot is amazing, any of the fresh fish, and the green lip cooked mussels will keep you dreaming. A plus is some of the staff speak Japanese, as it is a fully authentic restaurant, I find this a great quality. Love you AMU!
Great food and service. We had a lot of food restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, no shellfish) and they handled them easily and graciously. Gave the staff an idea of what we like and they chose the dishes—turned out great! Do not miss the eggplant or the duck skewers. The sashimi was the best I’ve had in Colorado
My husband and I love fish, especially when prepared to Japanese styles. We've savored cuisine at Japanese restaurants where you can drop $400 before you blink. Even there, we have been given more food per dollar. At other Colorado Japanese restaurants, we've received far better prepared food with more volume for the same or smaller price as well. We ordered only three dishes at Izakaya Amu. One, king mackerel, had an inconsistently smeared wasabi sauce that gave no seasoning for one piece of fish and was nauseatingly overwhelming on the next. Our unagi was burnt, as was our friend's dumplings. Each portion was unbelievably small, yet for the three items alone, our bill was over $60. To give credit where credit is due, the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. However, the food is the most important part of a restaurant, and I certainly found no reason to return.
