Shopping at Jacques Genin was quite the experience. I felt like I was walking into a jewelry store. Plus you literally get white glove service as the employees use white gloves to select the chocolates for you. It was also one of the biggest chocolatiers I've seen, and what I found impressive was that they made the chocolate in-house. The spiral staircase inside the store leads up to their lab. We got a few custom tin boxes with assorted chocolates, which would make the perfect souvenirs. The chocolates were amazing, but don't sleep on the pâtes de fruits! We got a couple of them for the road, and they were so delicious that we went back to the store to buy a tin. They're 80% fruit and 20% sugar, so they're not overly sweet. They also had a beautiful jelly texture that you could sink your teeth into.
