My husband, myself and my inlaws were SO excited to try Kiki's Bistro for a special occasion, New Year's Eve. I made a reservation far in advance for 8:45 PM. When we arrived, we could barely squeeze in the front door. It was chaos. As we attempted to check in with the hostess, it was so crowded that we were pushed into a hallway, which we were eventually forced to move from as well. It took 15 minutes to even make it to the host stand to check in for our reservation. When speaking with the hostess at 9 PM, we were told we would not be getting a table, and there was no indication of when we would be able to sit down IF we would be able to sit down. With no apology, and no idea of if we would be served that evening, we made the decision to leave. We would have loved to get a drink at the bar but there were so many people who were also waiting for their reservation that there was no room to even do this. We were extremely disappointed as my inlaws were in from out of town and we were left with nowhere to go at 9:30 PM on New Year's Eve. Thankfully, we were able to find a last minute reservation at a reliable neighborhood restaurant. I hoped we would hear from Kiki's or at least receive a verbal apology for their major let down. Having visited France many times, and developing a love for French food, we were very much looking forward to adding this to our list of favorites in Chicago. Sadly, based on the service and lack of communication, we definitely won't be recommending or returning.
