Our lunch party of 8 tried many dishes on our first visit. Our favorites were the potstickers & the Toast (griddled sandwich) & bulgogi bibimbap. We also loved the kimchi, cold & the hot one that came in the bbq box w/the yummy pork belly. Half of our group liked the corndogs & most liked the sweet pancakes and 2, who enjoy more spice, like the tteokbokki (chewy rice cakes in a nice red broth, topped with cheese). Mom enjoyed her ramen & didnt share. Free water was warm or you could buy cold bottled water or other drinks. We thought the box of Melon yogurt drink was good, once. Sticky tables (from cleaner?) & not many tables (4) is why the lower rating. Loved the pictures & staff who answered our many questions about our new first visit. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Korean Potato Corn Dog, Korean BBQ Box, Bulgogi Kimbap, Hotteok Korean Sweet Pancakes, Ramen, Tteokbokki, Toast, Pork Belly BBQ Box

Why haven't we been here before?? If you like CupBop- this is cupbop times a million! Not sure I'll go back to cupbop after this. Fresh, light, delicious. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful. Got the bibimbap as recommended- again, the only Korean food I have reference to is cupbop so I had no clue what to order- it was absolutely incredible. I know I'll be craving it. It's a rice bowl with veggies, meat and sauce. I want to come back and try the ramen!

First time eating at Koco Bell, have just moved from Seoul after five years, but born in Coeur de Alene, was excited to try some Korean Street food in Boise Idaho.  Expectations were low despite high reviews.  Overall good food. Hard to compare to actual Korean street food for example a Hottekdok on HWY 1 rest stop outside Seoul is 1,000 to 1500 won which is about $1.00 US dollar.   We tried Tteokbokki (without cheese), Kimbap Original, BBQ Box Pork, Add Korean Spicy $1.00?, & Hotteok.  Used menu names, so folks would know how to compare. Ordered 5 out of 5 for spice for Tteokbokki and Pork. *Tteokbokki was very spicy and good, but spice was different from Korean Tteokbokki, maybe hard to get authentic Korean Spice in Boise, if you like cheese and spice would cool down spice level and add cheese, and most likely why rated so high? *Kimbap was good, but like other reviews used hot-dog instead of spam, and no greens (usually spinach or cucumber inside the Korean Kimbap roll?)  The picture on the website had greens, but ours didn't.  Disappointed because that would have made a good Kimbap a great Kimbap.  If trying to save money, recommend you don't, that is how great restaurants go out of business. *BBQ Box Spicy Pork, this was excellent the grill pork with the greens and rice was very good.  Again, too much with the different spice to get to the 5 of 5 spice, but even with that still very well done and excellent taste.  Again, for most Meguks would not recommend 5 out of 5 for spice.  Cool down the spice rating to around 3-4 and would be an excellent meal. *Hotteok: Finally the best part of the meal.  This was exactly like Korean Street food or rest stop food.  Hot tasty and sweet, great add to cool off all the spice.  And real pumpkin seeds which you don't see very often. Secret to eating Hotteok is eating is hot and fresh and don't let it cool down, and like American french fries don't cover or cooling moisture takes the cripyness away so keep bag open like on fries. Again for Boise ID. 5 out of 5, but for Namdaemun Seoul they would most likely struggle.  Like most Korean Restaurants I have tried in America Kocobell has had to Americanize to stay in business which means more sweetness, more cheese and less spice.  I would recommend this place as the ratings indicate well worth the price and much cheaper than flying to Seoul and taking the subway to Namdaemun.   We asked for 5 out of 5 for Spice, which I don't recommend because I think it was a blend of Chinese Chile hot sauce, Sriracha and maybe even a little Korean Gouchchong?, but just guessing, - but definitely very spicy.  Not the typical Korean spice, but defiantly spicy.  Which is normal for most Korean meals.   Very popular with the high school crowd across the street, so if you go at lunch while High School is going - go early or late for lunch, or be prepare to wait.   Again for Boise ID., based on other Boise Korean restaurants (Owned by Chinese)  I have tried definitely 5 of 5, but for if you have lived in Korean or are Korean manage your expectations, and be happy you can get hotteok in Boise with pumpkin seeds.
