Thinking Santa Fe is nowhere near the shores, I'd order noodles and cooked Japanese food instead. Greeted by Japanese food menus and chefs by the sushi bar, thinking it could only be authentic, turned out the ramen and udon were atrocious. Ramen was totally tasteless and I had to add lots (and I mean LOTS) of chilli flakes only to get some taste in my soup. From the noodles' texture and flavour, you could tell it is not freshly made and just some off the shelf instant noodles. Very bad for Asian people trying to get a taste of home, or foreigners trying to understand what ramen is. Nothing much to add. Just don't get cheated by the size of the restaurant and number of people in there. Not worth your time and money.
Excellent Sushi a little busy, even with a reservation. Good service overall.
Really wanted ramen, and of course it was during that strange hour of the day when the singular  ramen house in Santa Fe is closed for two hours. So we went to Kohnami. Got seated immediately, ordered sake and green tea off the bat. Then we both got the Tonkatsu ramen which has bone broth in it. Also had the gyoza for a starter which was pretty perfect hands down. No complaints. Then the ramen arrived, and although it looked very standard, it was amazing. It was the perfect ramen for the perfect moment of needing ramen. The broth was also excellent. Normally, we never finish our giant bowl of soups, but we both made it to the bottom. In fact, We are driving away right now taking about wanting camelback's of that soup on tap. Then there was the green tea ice cream. I have NEVER had an ice cream that didn't taste like ice cream. It actually tasted exactly like green tea. Unsweetened green tea. And you know what, that is why it was amazing. Pleasantly surprised by this place. Def recommend.
