Finally ... someone in Las Vegas that serves Pelmeni !!! And authentic too . We saw this food truck at a city event and were thrilled to see some childhood favorites. Food was freshly prepared and service was quick. Best part is, they cater too!!

I am Ukrainian from NYC and there's not a lot of places to find pelmeni in Las Vegas as opposed to where I'm from so I was happy to discover Kolobok. Albeit a little pricey, the pelmeni tasted great and the portion size was good. I hope they grow to a restaurant location one day soon.

I'm really glad that I had the chance to try the Kolobok Russian Soul Food truck at Off the Grid in Alameda today! Menu offerings included dumplings, crepes, rice, potatoes, piroshki, and desserts. Everything sounded good and it's not often that you can find Russian food in the East Bay, so I went with the Siberian Meat Dumplings, which came with a cabbage salad and spicy sauce, and then one of their specials--a Potato Piroshki. I was told that the Dumplings would take a while, but I was totally fine with that as that meant they were making them fresh. And fresh they were--they arrived piping hot and were SO flavorful and moist with nice texture and filling to wrapper ratio. My taste buds were in love and I wish I had gotten another order I wasn't as big of a fan of the Potato Piroshki even though the bread was nicely fried (or baked?). The filling of mashed potatoes and mushrooms had more of a sour cream taste that I wasn't accustomed to, so I probably should have went with the Beef or Cabbage instead. In any case, I'm still looking forward to trying other items on their menu. And the staff members were really kind, patient, and courteous, so that was appreciated!
