Stopped for a quick overnight stay in American Canyon while visiting colleges in the area. With 5 stars and 70 reviews, I figured we couldn't go wrong and I was right. Quaint, modern and chic'ly -styled restaurant tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall.  Servers/owners were very welcoming. After we arrived, seemed like a lot of locals came in to dine which says a lot. We ordered a variety of items - ceasar, steak, scallops and oysters - and all were done and presented to perfection. My husband said the oysters were fresh and great - my son even tried one for the first time. If you're looking to have a scrumptious meal with a local, unique flair, this is the place to visit!
Awesome!! So glad to have found this gem of a restaurant. My wife and I were at Six Flags for the day, but the food lines were too long so we found this spot based upon the great reviews and they are all accurate! Amazing service, food options, and atmosphere
My wife and I were delighted to try Laso for dinner tonight. We'll certainly be back. The restaurant may well be the first Nepalese-American fusion place in California or even the whole country. But even if you don't like Nepalese food, don't be put off. The emphasis here is on creative fusion rather than basic South Asian cuisine. We really liked the salmon momos and the seafood pappardelle, but the real star of the show for us was the lugsya curry, a very tender lamb shank in a light, tasty sauce. I hear that the salmon and the half-chicken are also great. The excellent chef and co-owner, Sonam, has worked at the French Laundry and at other fine California establishments. His brother and other co-owner, Ming, is a charming host and, on the night we were there, waiter. The ambiance of the place is wonderful as well. Very nicely designed with pleasant music and an airy, roomy look. The room has perhaps 15-20 tables and a small bar area that can seat six. It's a new place, but I have a feeling it will become a destination restaurant before too long, given its proximity to Napa and parts of the Bay Area. Very highly recommended.
