I would give it five stars for the food which is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the service is really terrible. I booked on OpenTable and mentioned that it was a birthday. We got a table by the bathroom and the most apathetic service I've ever experienced and that's saying a lot for Santa Fe. The service was not at all French. For a birthday dinner I was sorely disappointed except for the food. I will go back but the Hipster who served me will be avoided. I wonder how much training the staff gets because they couldn't even clear a two-top completely between courses. I had to ask for an espresso with dessert and would have had more wine but wasn't offered any. I did not feel a tall welcome or more than money to be put in the waiters pocket. So sad.
Excellent in every way, from service to menu and preparation. I highly recommend. Note: their escargot is the best I have had in many years, really liked the way it was prepared.
Oh no no, L'Olivier. What a disappointing way to end 2018. BF and I researched all the best restaurants in Santa Fe to have our NYE dinner. We knew it would be a splurge for us and we were really looking forward to this experience. Pero no! First, let me share that it was $110 per person but after ordering two glasses of bubbly and one very bad cup of coffee plus a tip that was not justified for the service we got, our final bill was about $311. For that amount, I've personally have enjoyed spectacular French cuisine in Paris for one fourth of the price. BF's Smoked Duck Breast was super dry along with the toast. My Sea Scallop Ravioli was an interesting deconstructed ravioli that may have sounded as a great concept but was just meh upon delivery. We noticed other tables had bread baskets so we asked for one for our table. We were taken back when the waiter asked if we would also like butter. Duh? We moved on to the main course. My bf's elk tenderloin was delivered cold. Horrid. Miraculously my filet mignon was decent but not l'magnifique. We shared a Paris-Brest Hazelnut which was stale and the Red Fruit Layered Cake was ok with a good mix of berries. We had high hopes for our dinner for the special occasion that it was. We were expecting to walk out wow'd by the experience. But for that expense, unfortunately, it was not good. No bueno. Pas bon.
