Not only should Calle de Santa Isabel be visited, but also La Berenjena. Taste something new from Mediterranean and Spanish cuisines. Nicely cooked burrata, fried crabs and caprese salads can make a strong impression on you. Try good gelato, biscuits and pudding to form your opinion about this restaurant. After a long working week, you can try delicious house wine, beer or vermouth. Degust great cortado.

La Berenjena is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Adequate prices are what you will pay for your meal. There is a calm ambiance and nice decor at this place. The TripAdvisor score for this spot is 4.5.

La Berenjena was recommended to me by a friend who had recently visited Madrid, so I made a point of checking it out during my stay.  The staff was friendly and obviously eager to please, the ambiance was pleasant, and the overall quality of the food is AOK, however... The portion sizes are way too small, especially considering the prices.  Also, some of the combinations they've dreamed up for their menu simply aren't what you'd normally expect to find in a tapas place, so choose with care. Bottom line: This restaurant will do in a pinch, but there are many better tapas restaurants to choose from - especially if you don't have unlimited funds.
Easily my favourite meal in Madrid, possibly all of Spain. This place is awesome. Great local place with unbelievable food, music and atmosphere. Seriously fun time had here!
This restaurant came HIGHLY recommended from a Madrid native.  The owner was kind and welcoming.  The bartender (who was my waiter) was not attentive at all.  I had to ask him for everything.  The food was not special.  This Caprese Salad was so overly covered with a cream cheese type of food.  I had the mini-hamburgers which DRIPPED grease.  But here's the clincher:  The waiter/bartender was CHEWING his nails in front of me and touching everything.  Not good.
