Having seen Musee du Cinquantenaire, it's time to have a rest at this restaurant. Locals like Belgian and French dishes at La Joue de Vache. The cooks here prepare tasty fillet steaks, beef cheeks and foie gras. Being at this place, degust perfectly cooked parfait, tiramisu and crème brûlée.

The place looks inviting but has a strange ambiance. We wanted to order but the waiter had no idea what we were asking. In Dutch of course, as we always do in Bruxelles, we ordered a beer. The guy looked at us as if we from Mars. But we are from Brussels. He asked with some arrogance and in French only if we wanted wine! He added that he could serve us in French, English or German. So we left and went to the place next door....2021, we were not very surprised that this disdain still exists in the capital of Flanders. But off we went and left the place completely empty. No wonder...

The restaurant has changed owners but remains a good classic place to eat with great value for money.

I have been several time for work dinners and with friends, and always very good food and athmosphere. The staff is nice.
