La Petite Auberge in Barnet is a great place to go for a lovely French dining experience. The restaurant has a beautiful interior with French prints on the walls and the staff are friendly and attentive. The menu has a great selection of dishes, ranging from Escargot to Beef Bourguignon, as well as a variety of starters and desserts. The food is generally of a high standard, although some dishes can be a bit hit and miss. The included service charge can also be a bit high, but overall it is still good value for money. The atmosphere can be quite loud but this doesn't detract from the overall experience. All in all, La Petite Auberge is a great place to go for a delicious French meal.
When we got there, first was greeted with Happy Faces, and then we ordered food. I was very disappointed with my food, if I'm honest. Then we decided to order a dessert, but the young waiter, which im thinking was greek, was very rude, and was arguing with me about creme brulee. Then he argued with my friend about paklava while I was in the toilet. Then we decided to get the bill, called him 3 times, looked in our faces & just ignored us until I shouted. Then he asked me about the creme brulee again. Beautiful restaurant but will not be going back sorry. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
A thoroughly enjoyable lunch on a dreadfully wet day in February. We were tasked with picking our grandchildren up from hockey training in Trent Park, so looked for somewhere to have lunch, and were so pleased to see La Petite Auberge as we had had many great meals at the sister establishment in Islington. The Cockfosters branch is very different in appearance but turns out to have similarly excellent food at the right price served by pleasant and professional staff. The Duck Confit was superb.Such a pity that we live so far away from it!!
