Quality of food and service were great. I started off with soup which was served in a plastic bowl. My main course was Ossobuco which was a $30 plus entree served on a plastic plate. Paying good money for nice food served on plastic made for a cheap feeling experience. I’ll go elsewhere. Parking: Parking is difficult to find and I had to pay for it once I found a spot. A friend recommended La Sicilians and we gave it a try tonight. We have so many great restaurants in our hometown of Hermosa Beach, including great Italian food, but we are forever grateful to our friend for leading us to La Sicilia in San Pedro as it was absolutely amazing!!! Our visit started with being graciously welcomed at the front counter by the owner, Signora Rita, who remembered our reservation and walked us to our table for two in the small, simple, but perfectly comfortable dining area. (Wonderful outdoor dining is available as well, but we opted for indoors.) I'll get right to our choices, everyone absolutely, perfectly delicious! For starters we shred a plate with four Bruschetta Bella, light with bell peppers, unique and as tasty as any Bruschetta found anywhere. Next we shared a small Caesar Salad. So good with lots of freshly grated Parmesan on top of fresh and crispy greens. My wife chose for an entree Penne Amatriciana (a Bolognese-like red sauce), while I chose what I presume is their signature dish, Chicken alla Rita, a flavorful, lightly breaded chicken breast accompanied by the lightest and most flavorful spaghetti with a pesto sauce I've ever tasted! We shared an extremely reasonable bottle of Sicilian Nero D'Avola Red Wine that paired perfectly with all of our choices, and then finished up with a slice of Nutella Cheesecake and a Tiramisu along with Double Espressos for desert. A meal we won't forget for a longtime, but we won't have to because we're definitely going back again soon! Not only for the food, but for the delightful attention paid to us at every course by our charming host, Signora Rita! Next time you are in old town San Pedro, you need to try La Siciliana!!!
