Best in the city

Great service
Cosy atmosphere
«An authentic atmosphere in La Taverna di San Giuseppe»

La Taverna di San Giuseppe has a very suggestive location, with vaulted stone ceilings and great cellar.

The restaurant welcomes you, the staff makes you feel at home and guides you through the food and wine route (because there are so many choices), the food is excellent and represents a right mix between traditions and innovation.

The best restaurant we have visited in Tuscany. For lovers of rare roasting, we definitely recommend ordering a Florentine steak.

Great quality food, very nice staff, courteous and professional. We thank everyone for the beautiful day, in short, we are very satisfied. Without any doubt we highly recommend it. By the way, Siena is beautiful

A spectacular experience absolutely worth it’s money. Everything was amazing and the service was absolutely top level!
Ospitalità e qualità super!!!
I am so glad this lovely little rustic taverna lived up to the hype. Situated at the top of a steep street (Siena is all about ups and downs), you really do need to book in advance for this Michelin starred restaurant. We diligently turned up 5 minutes early, the extremely attentive and polite staff seated us in a romantic corner of the room with some farming tools and served us a comforting carrot and potato soup sampler to start - already I'm loving all these little touches. We decided to have the pecorino cheeseboard with honey and mustard fruit jams (you can't leave Tuscany without having one - or three or four in our case). The cheese soufflé was just beautifully balanced with a pear garnish - not overpowering at all. I had the pici cacio e pepe (a unique Toscana flour and water thick pasta, in this case with cheese and pepper), whilst my boyfriend had a wonderful spinach gnudi with beef ragu that we were encouraged to pour olive oil over - what a great suggestion. The flavours at La Taverna di San Giuseppe are spot on, they seemed to showcase Tuscan flavours to their authentic best and they had impeccable service. An A* experience that made our trip and created a really wonderful memory.
