Decent food at a very reasonable price. I like the Columbian sausage! Would recommend that.

Tap water taste like aged fish tank and made me stomachache. It made me worried about food safety. Also no one warned me that there were no seafood at all today until we sat down and started ordering. Steak was the only option but the steak was not trimmed and hard to chew. Nevertheless the appetizer and beans were quite tasty. In summary it does NOT worth the money. You get only a third of what you paid for there....

Today was my very first experience dining at La Ventana Restaurant on Miami Beach and I could not be happier with my experience! The restaurant is quite small (at least from where we were seated it looked this size) and sort of reminded me of a Colombian-themed boutique restaurant. The decor is very cute and comfortable, with spaced out bistro-style seating and hanging flowers everywhere. There's even some bistro tables for outdoor dining but as the weather usually goes in Miami, it rained a few minutes after we'd arrived so we were happy to be seated inside. Our server Natalia was amazing! She was so accommodating and nice, it was a pleasure and a privilege to be served by her. Service is also fairly quick so if you're looking for a fast bite while at the beach, this is a great spot for that. While we were seated/waiting for our drinks, I witnessed a handful of passersby walk in to order take out. It was really refreshing to be out during this pandemic and see so much foot traffic to such a small establishment. That only proves how great the quality (and quantity) of the food is here. Natalia recommended the Mango Mojito's for me and my Mom and we absolutely loved them. They weren't particularly strong, but the flavors of lime, rum, mango and mint were mixed with expert precision. Refreshing and flavorful - is there a better way to describe a mojito in the summer? As our appetizer, we shared the Mi Tierra, which is like a tiny tower of Colombia in every bite. Sitting in a moat of red beans, the castle of food is piled high with shredded beef, white rice, Spanish Chorizo, grilled and pickled onions and topped with a perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg. I 100% recommend this if you're looking for a perfect portion of food for lunch on its own. My Mom and I were halfway full after sharing this app, but it is so delicious, it's no wonder it's one of the top recommended dishes on the menu. As our entrees, I ordered the "Langostino" Camarones Criollos, which is essentially Colombian-style shrimp creole topped with a huge prawn. The menu describes this more like a scampi, but the sauce is tomato based and contains skinny strips of onions, red peppers and tomatoes - all of which was absolutely delicious! My Mom ordered the Bandeja Paisa which is very traditional to Colombia. It's a tray of meats including Churassco (cooked to your preferred temp), Morsilla, aka blood sausage (that you can tell is made in-house because I've never seen rice in Morsilla before, but it was so so SO good), Chicharones (fried pork chunks), red beans, white rice, a slice of avocado and of course, the perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg. This is one of those entrees typical of any traditional Colombian restaurant but at La Ventana it is PERFECTED. So much deliciousness on one plate, this could easily be shared by two people. Finally for dessert, my Mom and I shared the Flan. We would have preferred the Guava Cheesecake but they were sold out. Next time I will be having this one, for sure! The menu reads "Addictive!" next to this item so it is a must-try whenever they have it available. The Flan was tasty tho and the strawberry on top was a great touch. All in all my experience at La Ventana Restaurant was delightful. The service was friendly and quick. The food was fresh to order and tasted the way traditional Colombian food should - but honestly, better! I'd like to send a very special thank you to the Owner and her staff for such a wonderful experience. I can tell they all are passionate about their brand, their food, their culture. This is what I believe to be the most important factor in every dining experience. Thank you all for your service and for sharing your love of Colombian food with me. I have already recommended this restaurant on all my social media pages and will continue to refer friends and family to La Ventana Restaurant. I too, look forward to visiting again soon.
