Good news! Le Golfe has been through a complete transformation, from worst to best!Last visited in March 2022. This place was totally transformed, back to its former excellence, and even better. The chef has obviously been changed, as well as the management. Excellent high quality food (at very steep prices for Tunisia), good and friendly service, and as always, the beautiful setting by the beach in La Marsa. My review below of 2018 was well deserved at that time, but all the positive things stated in it are still relevant and well deserved.previous review in 2018:The only stars I can give are for the setting and the view.The service is deplorable. An army of uncoordinated waiters, with no obvious guidance from a managing hand, was wreaking havoc in this beautiful spacious restaurant.And last, but not least, the food was shockingly below par, mainly when you consider the high prices and when you compare to what it was until just a couple of months ago.The most expensive pasta dish, Linguine with Bottarga and Squid Roe, was overcooked and dry. The lettuce with (tasteless) Gorgonzola and walnuts was soaking in a mayonnaise dressing made with cheap corn oil.I’ve been going to Restaurant du Golfe for at least 40 years, as it was one of the best in the area. But after this last experience of Saturday 28 April 2018, I doubt I will ever feel like going back anymore.
