First, they are in the same building and have the same owner, but Les Deux Brasserie is NOT a Michelin star Les Deux [restaurant]. The restaurant is on the first floor and only offers a set evening menu. The brasserie is located on the ground floor, has additional outdoor seating, is open from 12pm to midnight and offers a different, broader menu. However, since they share staff, kitchen and wine cellar, the brasserie experience is very good and the prices are more modest. I stopped at the brasserie for lunch on a weekday without a reservation and was very pleased with the service and the food. The pulpo was excellent and I also enjoyed the monkfish. I recently spent a lovely evening here with a colleague. We were warmly welcomed, the food was very good and we enjoyed the time until... Until it came time to pay the bill. The gentleman who collected us had probably forgotten that the tip was at the guest's discretion, because when he paid he loudly, presumptuously and shamefully complained about the amount. Given the ambience and reputation of the restaurant, we were very upset about such a derailment. Since I wasn't the person paying, I didn't comment further on this, but it leaves a bitter aftertaste.
