I was walking on King Street while visiting Charleston and read the menu posted in their window and decided to come back on another day after they open at 4:30. I was warmly welcomed and offered a menu when I said I wanted to order lentil soup “to go.” I also ordered the Falafel and Anthony fixed a fabulous drink using honeysuckle vodka and rose syrup while I waited. The restaurant is warm, intimate and very family oriented. Both the falafel and lentil soup were generous portions and delicious beyond words. I definitely plan to return to try some of their other plant-based food offerings and rice pudding made with coconut milk. Four falafel on a bed of salad were included in the “to go” package and I was asked if I wanted the soup heated or ready for me to heat up at home which I thought was very thoughtful since I was walking. Savory, baked pita chips were included with my order. Portion size was very generous .Definitely a hidden gem in Charleston! We’ve had an absolutely amazing experience at Leyla Fine Lebanese Cuisine! Every single dish we ordered was superb, including the desert - Lebanese style homemade ice cream! Even coffee was incredible. The overall ambience of the place was very cozy and comforting as well. Working in New York City I’ve been to many high quality Middle Eastern restaurants before but this place would easily be one of best!! Highly highly recommend!
