1843 Harvest Cafe is part of the large sprawling Lindemans Ben Ean Estate and they've put in a decent sized venue here to cater for food for the wine tasters as well as for functions. The year 1843 was when Dr Henry Lindeman planted his first grape vines in the Hunter Valley so it's an appropriate name for the cafe at the Lindemans Cellar Door. It's good to see the sense of history showing through. On this particular day we had eaten a massive breakfast and sampled a few wines already so a lunch stop was only just needed but not to over indulge. Mlady wanted something light and healthy and veered towards the salads. She chose the rocket, pear, Parmesan and walnut salad. It was simple but met her criteria of something light and it was also nicely healthy. It had a light dressing and she did enjoy it.
