We are Italian and we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were on holiday in the USA in August 2023. The owner was VERY KIND, he is a special and heartfelt person and I was very happy to meet him. He made us feel at home, with incredible hospitality. I will never stop thanking him. Even the guys who work are very good greetings from Italy Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Louie's Foot Long Hot Dogs are an iconic hot dog stand for locals and travelers alike. In addition to their great hot dogs, they also have burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches and much more. The prices are good and the staff is great. Plus, there is history to this place. Louie's was started by Louis Turco would drive around a very different town of Tonawanda in his 1929 Chrysler honking his horn and letting people know his hot dog stand was open for the season. Tonawanda has changed a lot since then (as had the rest of the world), but Louie's brings back a bit of that old touch of the world with his simple but tasty menu. Speaking of the menu, what should you get? Well, I have kind of a simple rule. If a particular food item is in the name, I will probably get it, though interestingly enough, I have never had a waffle at Waffle House, but I digress. Get a hot dog, better yet, get a foot long hot dog. They do claim to be the "Home of the Footlong." They are fantastic. Fries are pretty amazing, as well. They even have Italian sausage with dandelion on the menu. If you haven't had dandelion, it is a bitter vegetable, but very good and a great compliment for sausage products. The ambiance is definitely old school Americana. Simple atmosphere, but inviting. This us the kind if place that will stay in your memories. Seventy years in business, they made a lit of memories.
