Shrimp poboy: Was given half a sandwich. Would have been okay if this was a lunch serving. But for 18 dollars would expect a whole sandwich. Shrimp did not taste fresh. Had an off smell to the shrimp, and shrimp was chewy. Not enough mayo added to sandwich. Hushpuppies: Regular serving size is 2 pieces. I assumed they would be a bit bigger than they were. Were as big as a thumb fingerprint. Flavor was just OK. I think one additional piece for the price would make it better value. Red beans and rice: Was just okay. Bread pudding: bread is really dense but tasted okay. Given alot of the sauce to make decent. Key lime pie: a lil sweet. but just OK. As someone who frequents New Orleans this does not satisfy any cravings. I would recommend to just go to Yalls Cafe if you do not mind the longer wait times. Second time making a visit to The Louisiana Longhorn Cafe. The first time was pre-pandemic. The food has always been great.Loved the alligator appetizer- half grilled, half friend. Our server was very friendly, helpful and made sure we were well taken care of.The food was well made and the portions were fair, considering the overall price increase at this time. Will recommend this place for anyone looking to have some Cajun food. This is definitely a must visit for any and all LSU or The NOLA Saints fans visiting the area.
