This was a rough one because the service was so terrible but the food was great. So I’ll start with the good- Food: the chicken cutlet is MASSIVE and juicy. The gazpacho was great but superr garlicky. Not so great- we waited an hour ten minutes before getting our food. At least four tables that came in after us came and went. When the chicken came out on the salad, it was so dry we couldn’t eat it. The three egg omelette came out looking more like two. When we got the bill they “took off the drinks because of our wait”, which was four coffeesand charged us for the side salad we never got. I know Mae’s to generally be good, but this time was a serious miss. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Mae's catered our cocktail-style wedding reception. The customer service leading up to the event was clear and efficient, and they chose wonderful staff to manage the event. The food was a hit!! We did a combination of passed appetizers and sandwich platters. The sandwich platters were all delicious and very popular - we had no issues convincing guests to take leftovers of them home. The hot appetizers were similarly excellent. The best ones were hands-down the ones that had more "cooking" involved where the chefs at Mae's could really shine (e.g., the chicken empanadas were surprisingly the favorite, and the risotto balls and others were huge hits too). The appetizers like bacon wrapped scallops were delicious because, well, it's bacon and scallops, it's always a safe crowd pleaser. But again the ones that required more culinary skills really stood out to our guests as "not just another standard cocktail appetizer" if that makes sense. :) So, all the food was delicious and met or surpassed our hopes and expectations. It was my first time at Mae's. We had such a lovely time seated outside. The food is absolutely incredible. It is evident the chef has a love of flavors and textures and he artfully combines them. I had the chorizo pancake and if you enjoy spice and amazing flavor I couldn't recommend it more! Get the fried egg on top!
