Food - haven’t eaten here in the last 2 years and the food used to be absolutely delicious. This no longer seems the case, unfortunately. The bad reviews are no lie, we went against our better judgment and were left incredibly disappointed. Service - The service we received from the young lady on duty deserves 5/5 but the food was appalling, tasteless and certainly not fresh to say the least. I recommend a smaller menu comprising of the most popular dishes only for more fresh, quality food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 1

It came highly recommended, and fully lived up to expectations. Mamak Tandoori House in Camp Hill delivers the goods when it comes to Indian Malaysian cuisine. The only people I wouldn't recommend it to are those who can't take heat/spice.We had the opportunity to visit with some Malaysian friends and ordered:* fish malabar, $20 - Mackerel fish food cooked in south India style with coconut milk* ayam masak merah, $17.50 - chicken cooked with tomato, onion, fresh chilli, lemongrass sauce with almond and coconut cream* Hyderabadi biryani, $18.50 - tender lamb marinated overnight with biryani spices and cooked with basmati rice in a clay pot hyderabadi style* fried okra, $15.95 - stir-fry okra with turmeric, onion and red chilli* cheese & garlic naans, $5* cheese & spinach naan, $5* plain naan, $3.50* Basmati rice, $3Total bill $93.45 for 4 adults and 1 child, which was pretty decent given we ended up having a fair bit of food and all of it was quite moreish. We picked dishes based on recommendations from people in the Malaysians in Brisbane FB group, so I think we were pretty well guaranteed of a good time. I would totally order any of these dishes again, but particularly enjoyed the curries and the fried okra. I grew up eating okra cooked a certain way, and have never had it this way. It was eye-openingly good!Will definitely have to return again, hopefully next time on a weekend so I can avail myself of their roti canai and murtabak, which were also highly recommended items.Be aware that Mamak's spicy dishes only come in medium or hot, so if you're someone who can't take heat like my son, you might end up mostly only eating naan and rice. So I'll have to find some other company next time to explore more of their range.
