Visited with a friend for our tea. Friendly welcoming staff. Ordered a platter to share, ribs, spring rolls, prawn toast. Peking Duck with pancakes, spring onion, and a tasty sauce and noodles. Our food was delicious, freshly made and well presented. We njoyed our visit, highly recommend here :) :) Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

In short, great Sichuan and Hunan food can be had here but you have to ask for the Chinese menu, which is a bit embarrassing I think I was hesitant to give Mandarin Garden five stars the meal we had was excellent - Morning Glory in Preserved Tofu sauce (炒腐乳空心菜) duck in beer sauce (啤酒鴨) and Fish in preserved Vegetables (酸菜鱼). Unfortunately, we nearly had none of this as the menu we were given initially was limited to the standard British Chinese fare we had to ask ‘is this the whole menu’ Thankfully, the kind wait staff informed us ‘we also have a Chinese menu’ and brought that around with chopsticks and bowls. I’m left completely torn if this excellent food is available, why not market it? Especially when similar places in Dundee, such as the excellent Manchurian, provide a full menu from the beginning? I’m happy that it’s so easy to get reasonably priced, excellent Sichuan and Hunan cuisine in Dundee, so close to the DCA and other hotspots but don’t make me ask for a special menu please? Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Placed order knowing there was a 75minute wait due to it being busy. Order arrived considerably later then time quoted, 2hrs late. Food was cold and to add to the hanger which setting in part of the order was missing. On phoning to inform the restaurant they offered to send out the missing food item, which I turned away as it too arrived 40 minutes after initial very late delivery. A refund was not offered and neither was an apology. OverLl very disappointing, the cold food looked nice and I am sure it would have been an entirely different experience had the food arrived hot and all items ordered present despite the massive waiting time.
