Friendly helpfull staff good value for a quick bite to eat
We loved what we got. Great Tapas and lovely Bruscetta. Highly recommend for Lunch.
The only good thing there is to say about this place is that it looks really comfortable and inviting - the two stars are simply for its design. When we arrived at the restaurant, however, two other guests warned us that the food was not very good. Unfortunately we did not listen to them. We ordered fish tapas and bruschetta. The bruschetta was already not very good (the veggies were definitely not fresh), but the worst thing were the tapas. In a city like porto directly located at the sea, the least thing that you can expect is fresh fish (which is sold cheaply at local markets). But at Mao Travessa they actually served us tuna out of a can (which tastes nothing like fresh tuna). The mussels and the sardines also did not taste fresh, most likely also out of a can. On top, the restaurant is also quite pricey compared to other local restaurants and bars serving better-quality food. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
