Ambiance is crowded but only classy people. So people 10/10 Service 10/10 food is 8/10. Bar is popping if you go on a Friday night with a more elite crowd but you will have a hard time getting seated if you don't have reservations for a table. One of my favorite restaurants

When we joined our other two friends they already had drinks and bread.  We were never offered the bread basket and I ended up flagging the waitress to get a glass of wine for my husband and me.  The room was modern and attractive but noisy.  The small complimentary cheese and bread and the Arancini amuse bouche were nice.  The salad was nice but pricey.  The pasta was pedestrian at best and at $42 a plate a rip off!  I can out cook them any day and I am no professional.  It was a very expensive meal to leave disappointed!  I have no interest in returning!

I've now visited Marea It was overall a disappointing dining experience. Our entrees came out at the same time, but the duck dish was not warm, suggesting that the timing of the entrees was mismanaged. It's such a shame because the duck was cooked so beautifully. The more frustrating thing happened when I tried to get my coat and umbrella from the coat check. A staff insisted that an umbrella was mine, though I told her repeatedly that it wasn't. I couldn't find my coat check ticket so I tried describing to her and another staff how my jacket looks. She seemed to have lost patience and claimed that I did NOT wear a jacket - it was only 40 degrees outside and raining, so how could I not have worn a jacket??? She backed off after I told her to look at the video footage to see if I came in with a jacket. Thankfully the other staff kindly found my jacket. This was my third visit to Marea, and I was disappointed that the overall experience worsened quite considerably compared to before.
