Their tacos made from masa are delicious! They have a wide selection of drinks made from tequila and mezcal. My favorite is the Pablo (coconut), but I always end up trying different drinks each visit. They have a bar and dine in seating.
Ordered steak torta. Meat was very juicy and tender. Excellent! Great margarita also. Very clean place.
So apparently mezcal is super popular in Chicago. So a lot of the drinks on Masa Azul's menu contained mezcal. It's not every body's cup of tea because of its unique smoky flavor. For example I'm a tequila lover, but I decided to give mezcal a try and I personally didn't like the drink. They do have a few other drinks that contain tequila on the menu. The drink pictured was called prickly pear it took me some time finish it. The only complaint I have about this place is that the drinks we were served were only half a glass full and that's with ice cubes. The quantity was small. The food however, made up for the overly priced small drinks. We had tacos de cochinita pibil and they were delicious with the pickled purple onion and avocado on top. The food portions were pretty small as well as you can see in my photo. This place is more of a grab a few drinks to socialize while eating appetizers and go.
