Loved this place! I stopped in here on a whim with a friend around 9:30 on a Saturday night! The entire restaurant was filled and we snagged the last two seats at the bar. They had tons of wine options; most wines by the glass ranged between $13-$17. I loved the red wine that I ordered! The bartenders were nice and didn't push us to order food. Initially we had just planned to get wine, however when we saw the food being brought out, we couldn't resist. We decided to share a pizza since they make them fresh in a brick oven (and in front of you in the back by the bathrooms)! We ordered the pizza with sausage and broccoli rabe $26. It was delicious and perfect for sharing! We each had two slices however I would recommend if you are super hungry, get your own pizza! The flavor was phenomenal! There was the perfect amount of each ingredient so that one didn't overpower the other! We also shared a slice of cheesecake for dessert $12 which was good, not great. It was light, airy, and fluffy and I prefer my cheesecake to be dense and creamy! Overall, check this place out! Every dish that came out looked incredibly fresh and the presentation was on point! If they take reservations, I'd highly recommend making one! Being Italian, I appreciated that this place was owned by actual Italians, unlike other Italian restaurants here in the city! The owner/manager was at the door when we left and personally thanked us for coming in! That personalization goes a long way in my opinion!
One of my favorites in NYC. I haven't had anything I didn't like. The waiters ask if you're attending a show so they can help speed things up or get you a cab once you're  finished eating. Just a wonderful place and it's a short walk to the Met!
Yesterday we had the exquisite pleasure of once again dining in one of my very favorite restaurants, Masseria Dei Vini. I have been eating at this fine establishment for several years now after discovering them near a medical professional I see in the area. What a stroke of luck! And beyond delicious! My Mom and I shared 2 of our favorite dishes here. The first is Insalata Ricca, a delightful light salad consisting of Frisée salad with Parmesan cheese and crispy bacon. Yum! Keep in mind when viewing the image of this salad that the portion was divided into two for us. So they give you 2x the amount in my picture of it. We also opted to have the Zuppa del Giorna, which was lentil soup and very good. Then we shared the Penne Alla Masseria (the other favorite) which is penne in a light tomato sauce with bacon, radicchio and smoked mozzarella cheese. Delicious as always. Again, please remember when reviewing my picture of it below that they cut the portion in half for us as we shared the entree. Last but not least although we did not have it this time around, they have to die for homemade tiramisu and delicious decaf cappuccino that go together remarkably well.
