If you appear to be near Blue Ocean Discovery Center, you can go to this bar. Cooks at McGuirks do their best to provide visitors with tasty haddock, scallops and lobster salads. You will hardly forget good beer that you can find. This place has good coffee among its drinks.

Hands down our favorite place to hit for breakfast (Migas is my favorite), lunch or dinner. We love all four spots offered to dine and have fun...two outdoor bars (front and back of Post 8) and inside (dining room upstairs and pub are downstairs). No matter what the weather, you always have a great spot to land and awesome ocean views. Great menu with something for all. Try the skewers, tacos, Megalabacon burger and the grilled chicken sandwich...all ordered on repeat by us. Great for large groups especially in the back bar (we went to a party of about 100 in back Post 8 last week and it was incredibly fun and well staffed!). The entire team hustles and does it with a smile.

I threw a surprise 40th birthday at McGuirks and it went so smoothly thanks to Dawn!! She was so helpful in making sure the cake and decorations were perfect! The party was supposed to be outside in their "Post 8 Cabana" but due to the weather, the owner, Tom, was so kind and generous to allow us to move the party to the downstairs pub. Tom's catering prices were so fair and everyone loved the food! The staff was so kind with all our guests and most importantly, the Birthday Boy was so happy with everything!! I totally recommend going to McQuirks to eat, or just have a couple of drinks at Post 8, or to plan an event!!
