Mesa de Lemos, located in Viseu, is a fine dining spot that offers traditional Portuguese cuisine with a creative twist. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and welcoming, with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. The interior design is a masterpiece of modern architecture, blending seamlessly into the natural landscape. While the price range may be on the higher side, the quality of the food and service justifies it. The establishment is situated in the middle of Quinta de Lemos, one of the leading wine producers in the Dão region, allowing for an extensive wine list featuring their own wines.
The menu features a variety of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, such as Bísaro Pork from Trancoso, Crawfish from Algarve, and Bacalhau (salt cod). The tuna from Azores is a must-try dish, as it is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For dessert, the airy and creamy sweet treats are sure to leave you craving more.
In addition to the exceptional food, Mesa de Lemos offers a unique experience of passing through Chef Diogo Rocha's open kitchen upon entering the place. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making you feel right at home. The restaurant's setting, built on a granitic stone slope facing the stunning vineyards, creates a truly outstanding atmosphere.
Overall, Mesa de Lemos is a must-visit establishment for anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime voyage into eating perfection.

What can I say about the experience of our meal at Mesa de Lemos? Firstly, the location and space are perfect. The combination of concrete and granite is wonderful, and wherever you look, you have the Dão landscape. I recommend going for lunch, so you can enjoy what's outside the windows. The service is , we felt very welcome, with a very friendly service whilst still being professional and attentive. The food was worth our trip, despite being a very extensive menu (I couldn't finish the desserts) it is very balanced and pays homage to the excellent products from Quinta, Dão and our sea (the fish was wonderful!). The wines were very good, I recommend the "wine pairing", they are a great complement to the dishes served (and at the end we have the option of purchasing the wines served). Finally (and as a joke in reference to some adventures I had in other Michelin restaurants due to some food intolerances) I can say that I reached the end of the meal without feeling sick, which in itself is a success . This is a restaurant that I will be very happy to return to, for the location, the service (thank you all very much, you left a very special impression), the excellent food and wine. Mesa de Lemos is an excellent excuse to visit Dão.
