The unique characteristic of this fast food is serving nicely cooked chili, hamburgers and chili burgers. Here you can drink good milkshakes. The hospitable staff at Mike's Drive-Up can show how much they value their clients. The prompt service is something these restaurateurs care about. Trip users rated this place 4 out of 5.

I grew up eating the garlic fries at Mike's--graduated from Eureka HS in the 80's. In high school, I'd sometimes eat a big greasy bag of these as a meal. I'm prompted to write this review because of some complaints that their style of garlic fries isn't the "real deal". I've had the typical garlic fries all over the country. Mike's aren't like that. (The best typical garlic fries I've ever had were at the Getty museum cafe in LA). Mike's does up garlic fries like nowhere else. The fries are twice fried--like REAL French frites are, btw. I'd rather have Mike's than anywhere I've tried. Yes, they can be a bit greasy and soggy, but that's part of their goodness. I take off one star for all the right wing proganda they post inside the place. It's always been like that as far as I remember. But hey, it's their store. I'll keep getting their fries anyway whenever I'm up in Eureka. Keep up the good work!
They are tasty, humble, little hole in the wall and is an old business. It's authentic and meaty and am now a vegetarian so ordering classic garlic fries is a must. It's alll take out and not a dine. Really awesome employees!
I agree with Wes T. (read below)  Mike's is old-school Eureka, CA. Working-class feel, campers instead of glampers, hucksters instead of hipsters, you get it? I've been going to Mike's s when Mike actually still cooked the food, made the shakes and had that curmudgeony say-one-word-about-the-non-p.c.-stuff-on-the-wall-&-you-can-get-the-*uck-out look. Mike was a dyed-in-the-wool old school Republican and, frankly, the way things have gone absolutely ape sh$t in San Francisco or is it human sh%t regarding the likes of London Breed as mayor, Mike, at least, was honest.  Can't say our "mayor," is.  But I digress... The banana chocolate shake (yes, you can order both together) is still my favorite though today I had the butterscotch. I like family owned places in small towns. I like supporting small businesses. I had the opportunity to see one of the family members today, shook her hand and told her I'd write this up. If you're going for something more upscale don't bother.  Mike's Drive Up has good service, polite family members working behind the counter and the food is good when you're in the mood for something bad. So fervent yoga, pilates, skinny pants wearing brats? Get lost.
