We (2) had an early-ish dinner at Milagro's before heading to a show. We made reservations and were seated right away. We started with wine for me and a Mango Mule for my partner. Both were very good. We decided to split some meals and had the AGUACHILE shrimp crudo, and grilled vegetable enchilada. Both were fantastic. The restaurant was lovely and the service was attentive and appropriate. Highly recommend.

We tried really hard to enjoy our experience here at Milagro Cantina, but every new factor made that a lot harder to do. When first walking in, the dark and moody atmosphere looked promising. The cochinita pibil was extremely underwhelming. The slow braised pork was a fine texture, but lacked any sort of real taste. There was something missing, and that something was spice. The side of refried beans were the most disappointing of all. At first the dark colour wasn’t so much of a big deal— there are some dark beans out there. It was the first bite that just tasted burnt that was extremely off putting. These burnt beans were on both the main dishes we ordered and were equally as unappealing on both. The only thing salvaging this dish were the house-pickled habanero onions. They were delicious! Great spice and acidity that the plate was begging for, if only the other components of the dish stood a chance. Las enchiladas were disappointing in the spice department as well. Mild flavours and the taste of chicken was completely lost. Crema on top was a good touch, but couldn’t save the meal. Most disappointing was the queso fundido. Simply melted Gouda that was oily and inconsistent in texture. Not a single spice or pepper was added to the queso making it very difficult to continue eating. Not to mention that our appetizer came after the rest of our meal was already cleared since it was forgotten by the staff. Overall, the quality of food was not worth the exorbitant price.
