If you have never tasted Greek and Mediterranean cuisines, you should reserve a table at this restaurant. To taste nicely cooked greek salads is a really good idea. Good ice cream is the best dish. A selection of delicious beer is recommended to visitors. Based on the guests' opinions, waiters serve great coffee.

We hopped off the open-top bus Rethymno City Tour and crossed the gorge (including using stepping stones to cross the stream) to reach the tavern, where we had delicious house-made meatballs with mint in them, a delicious omelette/frittata with onion, ham and vegetables, and of course the ubiquitous fresh cucumber and tomato salad topped with feta. They also had a unique raki, with cinnamon and sugar, that was delicious. And the setting in the gorge is just, well, gorgeous. Would go again!
After a long walk in the gorge we arrived at the tavern. The service was very good, but the food was on the greasy side.
At the end of a hard climbing day, the taverna is a real treat
