Expensive prices for very mediocre food. There are so many delicious Greek restaurants nearby, I'm not sure how this one has maintained its 4.5 stars. This place is not welcoming. I've never had such an awkward and uncomfortable time being ID'ed before. For ref, my husband and I are almost 30 and the way we were treated made us feel like the restaurant is battling a serious underage drinking problem because the distrust towards us was palpable from the get-go. As such, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I called ahead to make sure coming in with an hour till closing would be okay and it was still a very weird experience. We were definitely out of the restaurant by 9. Kind of a bummer. We live nearby and were hoping to find a new spot to frequent. What are YOU doing for dinner? No plans? (Or even if you have plans, just add this to your must-do). And the "this" I'm referring to is the Gyro sandwich from Monaco Inn Restaurant. It. Is. Fire! I am a gyro addict and this is hands down the best one I've had so far. The pita was incredibly fresh and soft, the meat and onion were so delicious and flavorful and that tzatziki! I absolutely smothered my gyro in it. And not that I wasn't full enough from gobbling down the entire sandwich and fries, I totally had a second meal and tried this amazing dish called Pastitsio - layers of macaroni, lean ground beef, feta and bechamel. I ordered rice with ours and then proceeded to chow down like I was in my own personal eating contest. Y'all. This place rocketed to a spot in my top 3. Even the fries were crispy when we got home. I cannot stress how good everything was. Oh and did I mention the fresh made baklava for dessert? If you've got a sweet tooth, then you cannot pass it up! Just an incredible meal and I can't recommend them enough!
