After a long walk around Seven Foot Sigmund Freud, visit this restaurant and have a rest here. If you are fond of steaks, come to Monarch. At this place, clients can try tasty steaks prepared in the Josper grill, paired with premium quality wines from wineries from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and all around Europe.
The food we got was very good, but we ordered three things off the menu that they later found out they didn't have, so we had to change it. The waiters were hard to get in contact with, and they also forgot to bring two things we ordered (the wine and a sauce). Also, even though the food was absolutely great, it was rather pricey for what you got, and most of the beef is shipped in from America and not local. Even though the food was good, I'd not visit again because of the prices and service, and because I'm not traveling to Prague to eat American beef. I have been to many wine bars in Prague. The decor was very nice (2 stars). However, the service at Monarch was nothing special and the venue is very overpriced (over 100Kc per dL). It is a tourist trap at those prices and I would not return.
