Beautiful traditional Irish restaurant and bar with loads of character and charm, the meals were first class as was the service. The restaurant is steeped in history of Ireland and the people and many photos displayed on the walls for diners to connect and appreciate. I would Highly recommend a visit to this hotel and try the seafood chowder it's amazing.
First of all the oysters were great! Everyone (party of 9) enjoyed their meal. Staff were attentive and service was good.
I read about Moran's in the book Sex, Death and Oysters and couldn't believe after all these years we were actually going. We had a late lunch there on a Wednesday so getting a table was no problem. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful especially considering we had a hangry child who was just in the car for over 2 hours. Of course they poured a beautiful Guinness for me and my wife had gin and tonics. We only had one variety of oysters as the gigas weren't yet in season. A dozen raw and half dozen Rockefeller. The raw oysters were super fresh, briny and creamy...very well paired with Guinness. The Rockefeller oysters were just warmed through with a fresh topping, perfectly cooked to retain and highlight the freshness of the oysters. We also had their baked stuffed mussels which were delicious as was the Guinness bread. This out of the way restaurant should not be missed if you're in the area. We were on our way to Galway from Cork so it was a definite must. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
