This is my absolute favorite place for a cheeseburger. It's always cooked and seasoned perfectly. The burger is staked with fresh lettuce tomato onion on a grilled bun. The fries are awesome and served with fry sauce.
Tl;dr: The food is amazing, look at the daily specials, you have to walk through the NPS grocery store and past the checkouts to reach it. National Product Sales (NPS) is already an odd place. Specializing in mis-shipped and overstocked products, it's home to a wildly eclectic assortment of products at discounted prices. Situated by the exit of the main grocery portion of the store is this little diner, referred to as the "food court" by most employees but also as the diner or restaurant by others. Ana and Alberto are very friendly and always open to happy to explain their food or help with anything you need as are the various cashiers that rotate through. Full disclosure: I am an employee of NPS, though I don't have anything to do with the diner portion. I haven't been assigned to write this review or anything, I just love the food and want to share it with others. I take food far too seriously to be anything other than completely honest and fair. The standard menu is fairly straightforward. Hot dogs and burgers feature prominently. The Dewey Burger is a unique entry; a relatively straightforward hamburger but with the addition of bacon and hot dog. Half of a hot dog is then sliced lengthwise and browned on the flattop and laid atop a mound of bacon. You don't get sad, thin strips of bacon here, instead the bacon is diced and grilled giving wonderful variety of texture and flavour, and they don't skimp on it. While the existing menu is great, the daily specials are even better. Pastrami burgers and dogs, bacon bleu, cowboy, and sriracha burgers are only surpassed by the taco Tuesdays, often with homemade horchata and tamarindo. Sometimes champurrado is served during the winter and occasionally homemade tamales cooked in banana leaves (though those sell out quickly), among other things. When I first saw the diner at NPS I thought it was going to be dodgy and mediocre. Over a year later and I still eat there weekly, even though I have lots of great options around me. In truth I spend far more money here than I should... It's seriously awesome
