I chose to give Retox Game On's "aussie steak 450g grass fed blah blah" steak a try last night. I was enticed by the picture posted on Facebook, but was doubtful it would be any good, especially at 499 baht for the huge size of the steak.Big surprise! Floored! Flabbergasted!The steak was tender, juicy and flavorful.The service was outstanding and the price was unbelievable. I don't know how they pulled this off without losing a fortune on this special. The only way to make a profit on this would be to hijack a meat truck.In the better meat shops, for the quality of steak I had, I would expect to pay between 1100 and 1600/kg for that meat. That would make my cost for the 450g between 500 and 750 baht...yet it sold, cooked and with delicious chips for 499 baht.Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I suppose.Suffice to say, if that special ever repeats, I'll be there in a trice.
