NOTE: This restaurant no longer exists! It was replaced by Harbor Social, which has a separate listing. No need to spend 20 minutes walking in circles around the hotel trying to find a restaurant that doesn't exist like I did :)

Server added a 0 to the total when she closed out the check. Rather than entering $72.83 she entered $720.83. That is a HUGE mistake. My bank account is overdrawn and I am at the mercy of their accounting department to fix it before rent is due. Bank of America is no help but that's a different review. The plus side is this is a mistake and I able to get a person in the US on the phone even though she is not at the physical location. In the meantime I am getting hit with overdraft fees, which frankly Marriot should cover (they own this bar and it's their customer service and accounting department who has to undo this mistake) Did the server not notice they walked with hundreds of dollars more than usual and think to themself, I should double check my receipts???

Overcharged!!!. On April 19, 2014 Day one, my family and I went to the National Pastime Bar & Grill at the Gaylord National Harbor. We placed our order and everything arrived on time and the food was okay. The problems started when the $120.08 check was received and monies given. We gave the waitress $90.00 in cash and the remaining balance of $30.08+$20.00 tip to be placed on the credit card. When the waitress returned with check she had charged my card the total $120.00 without the cash. I notified the waitress immediately of the mistake. She returns saying the mistake was corrected and the charge was credited back to my account, I said no problem we all make mistakes. On April 20, 2014 Day two, I go online to check my account that was used at the Bar&Grill on the above date when I noticed a charge from the Bar & Grill of $180.00 for the meal that was $120.00. Immediately I am upset and calling the Bar & Grill for an explanation for the charge. I called the Bar and was told that the manager was had stepped out and would return my call upon arrival. Patiently I wait giving them the benefit of the doubt 4-5 hours no return call. So I call them again and the story was the same manager stepped out would return my call. No return call received on Day two. On April 22, 2014, Day three,I called the Bar again giving them the whole story about the situation once again manager not available in a meeting will return call as soon as meeting completed. Three to four later no call. I made a fourth call explained that I am trying to be as cooperative as possible giving you all opportunities to handle the situation on your level without taking the next step of course manager not available will call you back asap. It wasn't five minutes I received a call from a female manager coming in on the evening shift. She was very apologetic and sincere explaining that someone should have called me immediately to rectify problem. She stated the problem would we corrected and gave me her personal number to contact her the next day for an update because it was her off day. On April 22 2014, Day four, I received another charge of $30.00 from the Bar. So by this time I am livid and called the female manager explaining that there was another charge. She said give me a couple of hours to investigate and she would call me back Ok I said. At this time I am $260.00 in on a bill that was $30.08+$20.00 tip. She calls back saying that another manager was attempting to correct the problem. I asked why are they still charging my card. I told her due to all of these inconveniences I want all of my monies returned including the meal and tip and she agreed whole heartily and would notify the general manager and accounting. On April 25, 2014, Day four, I finally received the $180.00 credit and $50.08 for the above overcharges but never received the meal and tip monies. This letter was written because of principle and the lack thereof, not for the mistake of the waitress(because we all make mistakes) or the $40.08 for the meal and tip. If the general manager was about customer service and it being paramount he or she would have made sure that this matter was corrected to my complete satisfaction. So due to the lack of me being satisfied, this letter was generated to make sure people on the Internet and around the DC,MD and VA have a complete understanding of how business is conducted at the National Pastime Sports Bar & Grill. Thank you for the experience! Arthur B. Carter Jr. abcarter19@gmail.com
