A fantastic meal from start to finish is what my family enjoyed tonight at Nerai. Walking in the door, the whole vibe is chic, inviting and warm. Before we even sat down we had a really good feeling about what was to come. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. Water glass gets under 50% and out of no where a server is on hand to refill it. We sampled a range of appetizers including: Tuna tartare Zucchini chips Falafel with hummus The Saganaki with fresh squeezed lemon We enjoyed all the dishes, although the falafel was underwhelming. Nerai puts a lot of thought into the intersection between the artistry of a dishes presentation and the flavors you'll experience throughout a course. In my opinion, they deserve high marks for this alone. While our phones stayed off the table, this was a dinner meant to be Instagrammed...... For main courses we had Salmon, the filet and the chicken and every plate was clean by the end of the meal. Again, the presentation of each dish was well put together, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I was cautiously optimistic about the lemon gnocchi which comes with the chicken - and they nailed it.... We finished the meal with an order of Sokolatina Xanthia which is a blonde chocolate mousse with raspberry glaze on flourless sponge cake with cherry sorbet. It was so good we had to copy and paste it from them menu. While it's a pricey meal, I'm my opinion it's absolutely worth it and we will be back again soon.
Beautiful place. Tasteful decorations. Food was great. Service was very good. You can tell that management cares about serving great food and providing great customer service. Dined here before heading to the theater. Although the place has a very romantic atmosphere, our children enjoyed it. Everything served was fresh. Attention to detail in service. You get what you pay for.
Was in the neighborhood and craving greek food so obviously went on Yelp and saw the raving reviews and high rating for Nerai. Unfortunately i left unimpressed and wont be coming back. The food was nothing special. We did come for lunch so didn't try any entrees but the appetizers were nothing to write home about. Bland flavors, small portions and the "greek" salad was not like a true greek salad. It's like they were trying hard to make it cooler - but so unnecessary and missed the mark. The zucchini fritters didn't taste like much but fried dough, their dips were yummy but small portions, and like i said the greek salad was not what i was expecting. We also tried the octopus which wasn't special. It didn't have much flavor, was undercooked and the plating and presentation was unappetizing. I finished with a cappuccino which was cold (didn't ask for iced, so another bummer). Also if you're not seated at a table but at one of the tables next to bar you'll have people waiting around you for their table and it's not very pleasant. It's pricey, I don't mind paying for quality food or a dining experience ever but this wasn't worth it - at all. Service was fine - a bit confusing, they were nice but could be more efficient since you're paying for it. Sorry - but won't be coming back.
