I really liked this place and i understand covid is affecting buffets but I've been to a few now where instead of serving cafeteria style. Their is some places that you have to wear gloves and a mask at the buffet but you can serve yourself I know gloves cost but I'd be more than happy to instead of paying 12 - 15 dollars to pay like 15-18 dollars if the old selection was back of what they had before covid. It still is awesome but I can't wait to see it back to its old self I can say out of the dozens of times I have been here I have never had any issue.
The worker that didn't even own the place had an attitude & when I ask, "what's up with the Veterans discount"......they put on there just ME getting the Veterans discount which took a $1 off the regular price which was originally $46. I never did that anywhere else.....but I felt cuz I asked tha owner a question, he didn't understand, so the worker that was helping another customer said wit an attitude, "What!?" 1st off.....I wasn't talkin 2 u, but since u wanna ask wen I walk off, I could of handled it worse, which I know datz what they wuz expecting, but I didn't. I will be back 2 see how they treat me next time, & after dat I'll spread the word.
First off I try to avoid writing negative reviews, especially on the first try but here I go. My Mom and I were driving through Longview and by late afternoon we were very hungry as we had not had an opportunity to eat all day and New Hupei was on our route.  As a vegan, I suspected that they would have something to eat and I was not picky in the least, just wanted to get some food. My Mom grabbed a plate from the buffet while I took a look at the menu. It was not busy, only a few guests but I had to go find and interrupt an employee from eating her lunch so I could order. She was nice but don't think it is polite to take my order while chewing food. Since they did not have any tofu or vegetarian marked items, I asked for a basic vegetable fried rice with no egg. When the dish arrived, it was obviously cooked with lots of egg. I tried picking around it and it was impossible. We were on a tight schedule so could not wait for another dish so I paid for our drinks and my Mom's lunch and let them know how disappointed I was and left hungry. I travel often and I can typically find something to eat but in my old hometown, was so disappointed that a simple order was too much to ask for. My Mom said none of the buffet items were labeled and the food was just ok, food seemed stale and the sauces were empty. Seriously, they could have put some effort into taking care of their customers.
