Whenever I have out of town guests, Nico's is always on the list for lunch! The semi open views, quick service and yummy fish is a great go-to spot. Go straight to the seafood here, skip the rest! Here's what to try: Fried ahi belly( topped w a spicy tomato salsa), Furikaki Pan seared ahi, swordfish, grilled ahi sandwich or the fish chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Go to the market to grab yourself some poke(you can bring it in to eat at your table) or order a poke bowl. There's a variety you can choose from. They always have good specials too, don't hesitate to try them. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, check out their desserts! Craving their chocolate chip cookie at the moment! Yum
This was our first meal on Oahu. Ordered the Fried Ahi Belly and the Furikake Crusted Ahi rare. Both were delicious in their own right and the mac salad was the best weve had so far on and off the island. It is a seat yourself environment with a line to order and a designated pick up spot. There is outdoor seating with umbrellas that connect to the rest of the restaunt. It's very open and airy. Just perfect for a meal right off the plane!
Came here for dinner with friends. Food was good! I had the fruikake ahi which is their signature dish. I wanted it more raw inside so it was over cooked but not so much where it was dry. That was disappointing. My friends had the sword fish and really enjoyed their meal. We had the calamari the poke sampler. For some reason I wasn't that impressed. It was still good. I can't really put my finger on it.
