The BEST Omakase I've ever had -- even if it's $185/person (18-course). My boyfriend and I have been here for our birthdays for a couple of years now.. However, they have permanently closed :( Nonetheless, this place deserves 5-stars because it was definitely our favorite Omakase place in NYC.

I really enjoyed my meal with some of the most delicious flavours such that for a number of the dishes, I closed my eyes to savour the taste experience. I’m not an expert in Japanese cuisine ie I don’t know if truffle is a traditional ingredient, but that doesn’t matter to me as I’m more interested in unique flavour pairings and quality ingredients. The wine I ordered was lovely, but it did come with a pretty price tag. I’ll definitely return to O Ya, but keep in mind that it is expensive and that at the same price point, I should try another option after two consistently satisfying meals.
