If you haven't tried Omo Japanese soul food they you are missing out! You can expect top notch asian cuisine hidden away in Chesterfield village. On the outside, it may not look like a trendy asian dive but they had great ambiance! The restaurant's decor was bright and modern. The music was even decent, except when "Old Town Road" came on... but I can't hold my hatred of that song against them, now can I? We came in the back door and were greeted by the waitstaff. They asked if we were dine-in or carry out, we chose dine-in. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. She took our order promptly, despite the restuarant being busy with several patrons. She refilled both of our drinks and make recommendations as we asked. How 'bout the food... it was delicious! We started with an appetizer; fried dumplings. Reasonably  priced at $4, it was a great way to start our Omo journey. They came out within five minutes of us placing our order and looked so good we couldn't wait to dive in. They were piping hot, which is something I look for... obviously no one wants cold dumplings. The menu was problematic in that there were so many options it was hard to choose. We have been to their sister restaurant, Kuma, on the SE side of town so we had an idea of what to expect. What I didn't expect was the larger selection that Omo had to offer. I originally was going to get their Ramen bowls but decided to venture out into the unknown. I was not disappointed. My husband ordered the beef soba noodle entree with no broccoli (he's picky like that) and I ordered the chashu udon noodle entree. Picky husband really enjoyed his entree. He ate it up quickly and said it was well seasoned... which is high praise coming from him. He didnt eat the seaweed strip, but he never does. I went with the bigger udon noodles, a tad bit out of my comfort zone and was rewarded with a tasty adventure. Unlike picky hubby, I opted for the broccoli in my noodles. They added flavor but weren't overpowering. The dish was really quite delicious! Each entree was under $10 and I daresay we got way more than we expected. Additionally, we tried some Mochi Icecream for dessert. For those unfamiliar; they are little balls of frozen icecream wrapped in a rice flour coating. You get two icecream that are approximately the size of a golf ball. Picky hubby had the Matcha Green tea and vanilla and I tried the Matcha Green tea and chocolate. Picky hubby had a hard time with the texture but enjoyed them. The texture wasn't really an issue for me but I thought the matcha green tea had a funny taste. The chocolate was awesome though. All in all, it was a wonderful date out with my hubby and we only spent about $40. ****PRO-TIP****  the best parking is in the back, off Butterfield st.
