Perfect little spot tucked away in the middle of Times Square are for sukiyaki. It is a gem really as I have been trying so hard around all the boroughs to find a good sukiyaki spot. The food is spot on, the environment is ambient providing a perfect spot for a Friday date night or a family night out. Services are great as well, our waitress was very friendly and helpful without being too overbearing. Will definitely add this to my go-to Japanese spots in the city.
Authentic Japanese comfort food. This place gets packed so show up early and use the Yelp waitlist. Service is great - they offer tea or water as well. Tip/service is built into the price of the meal which justifies the price you pay. Like many asian places in the area, they offer lunch sets which are very worth it (entree with rice and miso soup). Katsu toji: The egg and the soy sauce broth are so silky and the breaded pork is a little soft without being too soggy. Salmon and tofu hotpot: tofu is so silky, the broth picks up the soy and fish taste very well and the salmon is soft as well. Eel over rice: The eel is grilled perfectly with this lovely sweet sauce. Salmon Ikura Roll: The salmon is delicious!! So fresh. Salmon Sushi (only during dinner): 6 pieces, 3 types of sushi prep - raw, seared, seared with sauce. $26 but so good. Their ingredients taste fresh and leave you feeling full but still clean.
A good place to go if u cant think of any rest when starving.  Pretty authentic, but not quite there yet.  Nigiris are so so due to heavy rice and tastelessness.  Nabes are ok, a little too salty, or too sweet.  Cater to Asian-American tastebuds.  Good and fast service, even if the wait can be long.  Tried all three Ootoyas, but this seemed the best to me.  More quiet and organized.  Best service outta three.
