Great venue, menu. Excellent cuisine, service.
Nice menu, pleasant surroundings, great staff!! Will be back next time I am in Redlands!
Olive & Citrus is the newest dinner house in Redlands.  The venue is a converted old church, but with updated wood walls, beautiful soft jazz in the background, a full bar, a huge kitchen.  Besides the usual small tables, they have a meeting room similar to a board room for small meetings.  A lot of expense was put into the look of this venue and is appreciated.   Regarding the food the first thing that is noticed is a charge for the bread and butter.  Thought this was unusual as no other restaurant in town charges for this especially if you are going to spend $80/person without alcohol!  The bread was outstanding, but we later found out it is made in a lovely bakery in Yucaipa.  Not having enough butter, I asked for more butter.  The water fellow went to get our waiter who then informed us that for more butter an additional $2 charge would have to be added!  He wanted to know if that was OK. I was at a loss for words.  Any high-end venue would not charge for more butter!  For $2.00 I can get a pound of butter at Costco! I ordered the beet salad.  This was very good - especially the pickled beets.  However, it was presented buried in a bunch of green leaves.  Knowing that we "eat" with our eyes, one had to dig to find the beets and the feta cheese.  My flat iron steak was done and cooked perfectly.  My wife ordered lamb, but the chops were some of the smallest she has ever eaten.  Ordering it well done was not completed as she had to send it back for more cooking!  Desert was outstanding especially the passion fruit ice cream.  My chocolate mousse had a lot of brown on the plate.  Great look for the Halloween season as it had a look of a cemetery.  Taste, however, was outstanding.   One other complaint circulating through town is that too much olive oil is used in the dishes.  We all know the name contains Olive and Citrus.  These liquids are great, but don't overuse them! Upon inquiring further about the butter issue, it appears this is an owner decision and this complaint is not new.  The owner doesn't seem to care.  The wait staff and others don't like the policy either.  So, for $2.00, I'll bring my butter with me next time AND share it with the next table - or maybe I can sell it to them too!
