Tucked away in a small street in Porto, Ora Viva is a cozy establishment that serves authentic Portuguese cuisine at reasonable prices. The ambiance is warm and friendly, with a welcoming staff that speaks multiple languages. The interior design is simple yet charming, with hundreds of notes hanging from the ceiling, adding to the restaurant's unique character.
The menu features traditional dishes such as grilled squid, seafood bread, tripas (Portuguese tripe), and the signature dish, Polvo a Lagareiro (grilled octopus). The portions are generous, making it an excellent value for money. The wine list is well-curated, and the staff is happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal.
One of the special features of Ora Viva is its outdoor seating area, which is perfect for enjoying the warm Porto weather. The place is always bustling, and it's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time.
Overall, Ora Viva is a fine dining spot that offers delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere, making it a must-visit when in Porto.
A wonderful place. Without a doubt, the restaurant I have the best memory of of all the restaurants I have been to (which are not three hundred either). Small, very cute place. Without a reservation in high season it is complicated, but during Easter we were very lucky. We went one night for dinner - an impressive experience - and two days later for lunch. For dinner, during Spanish time, as it was late, we barely had to wait. At lunch we waited about 20 minutes, and we would have waited as long as it took. Majestic Elena. At dinner he amazed us because after looking at the menu we ordered seafood rice, cod and sea bream, for two people. His face showed that it might have been too much food. He was wrong. We don't leave anything on the plates. Everything brutal. Above all, rice. For the day of the meal we leave the desserts. The chocolate cake is the best yours truly has ever tasted, and I have been a chocolate lover for as long as I can remember. I don't understand how a restaurant like this doesn't have 5 stars. For this price, you don't eat this quality in the entire Iberian Peninsula. If I return to Porto, I book every lunch and every dinner there. We left Ora Viva in love. Thank you! (My parents went months later, and after my suggestion, they returned delighted just like us) Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €25–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Pulpo Y Bacalao, Tarta de Chocolate Ora Viva
