Nestled in the heart of St. John's Wood, Oslo Court Restaurant is a fine dining spot that serves up classic French cuisine with a touch of retro charm. The establishment's salmon-hued decor and pink napkins transport diners back to the 1930s and 1940s, creating an ambiance of old-world elegance. The menu boasts an extensive selection of dishes made with high-quality ingredients, including a trout and salmon pate, grilled dover sole, and veal schnitzel. To complement the food, Oslo Court offers an impressive wine list, with a wide range of options to suit any palate. Cocktails such as the Cosmopolitan are expertly crafted by the talented bartenders. The restaurant also offers a set evening 3-course meal for a reasonable price of £54. In addition to the indoor seating, Oslo Court has a lovely outdoor seating area where guests can enjoy their meals in the fresh air. The staff are attentive, friendly, and make diners feel like they are dining "at home." Overall, Oslo Court Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in London.
Classy, attentive service and wonderful food. I went with a large group from work and the staff were fantastic. A nice, quiet and formal atmosphere. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Rack of Lamb, Lobster Cocktail
I’ve got a real affection for this place. Decent solid food and well cooked. Think of going to your mum’s for dinner. Very welcoming too. Not for the faint hearted – low ceilings, acoustics not good – super noisy. I think they should upgrade the petit fours though. But all in all it’s a great place. Today we ate at the Oslo Court restaurant for the first time, and I was strangely disappointed. It's not that the food isn't good - it is. It's fine dining, but (apart from dessert) certainly excellent quality, tasty and well-presented, with an extensive menu of traditional British + continental dishes. It's a really strange experience eating in the Oslo Court - very old-fashioned, with lots of pink tablecloths and napkins, and the waiters all dressed up in tuxedos! The problem for me is mainly that it's really very expensive for what it is... £38 per person for 3 courses for lunch (around £50 for dinner), with supplements of £2 or £3 for some of the dishes, which once you've included drinks plus the 10% service charge, adds up to quite a lot. The actual restaurant is in the ground floor of a block of flats in St John's Wood in London, so the ceiling is quite low, and what with the tables being quite close together that made it quite noisy. Service was good, but they did this strange thing of reeling off a very long list of specials (perhaps 5 starters and 10 main courses) which was impossible to remember - why the restaurant can't print them out I don't know. For dessert I was expecting an old-fashioned dessert trolley (I'm sure someone said that's what they do there) but again the waitress verbally reeled off the 5 or 6 desserts. I had sherry trifle, which to be honest wasn't actually very nice.So as a one-off, yes it's good to experience the Oslo Court. Lots of friends have raved about it, but personally I wouldn't go back.
