Small restaurant in the center of Bassano, very basic. Unfortunately we were attracted by the positive reviews, the food isn't bad but it's nothing special. Our favorite dish was the starter which we really liked and ate with gusto. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, a little sparse for 4 people. Unfortunately the first ones are really nothing special, very basic, perhaps too dry, well. Fried meatballs nothing special. Prices are on average with similar venues in the area. You can find both more expensive restaurants but also many cheaper ones. The owner is very nice. Terrible experience. Owners of unique rudeness! Appetizer clearly frozen and heated in the microwave (arrived cold at the table). Industrial fettuccine, tasteless and poor. Wine nothing special. High bill compared to the medium-low quality of the food. They should remember that those who sit at the table are CUSTOMERS and should be treated as such!!

Lovely osteria in the historical heart of Bassano. The owner was so kind to explain the menu to us (I’m Italian but I don’t come from that area). We started with a delicious antipasto to share (which included local salami, cheese, lentils and a type of roasted polenta - another favourite of mine!), and as main I had ravioli cacio e pepe. I would have personally cut down a bit on the oil but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The portions were generous which is always a plus for me. The restaurant is in the old alpine style, which I loved and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. All in all a great experience, I would definitely recommend Osteria Alla Caneva!
