One of my favourite places to get oysters in the city. I buy them unshucked to take home and shuck them when I’m ready to eat them. They also sell a killer cocktail sauce for their oysters. I also love their knowledge and recommendations every time I don’t know which type of oysters I want to try. Not to mention, they are a local business and I love supporting my local businesses, especially during this difficult Covid time. One day I’m hoping to eat in-store. One day.

Great oysters, onion rings, fries, chowder, but the lobster roll is a fail. Small even by Toronto standards and filled with corn?! CORN!?

It’s my birthday, and I’d usually be enjoying a seafood feast with friends at Oyster Boy. Instead, I’m doing takeout and supporting local. Called and spoke with the wonderful Matthew, who got right into the birthday spirit with concierge-level service.He asked what I had in mind, guided me through the latest menu, waited while I ooohed and aaahed, checked with Chef about certain ingredients. I wanted to try the lobster bisque, but OB won’t serve lobster until the dispute with Indigenous fishers gets resolved fairly.We settled on a dozen oysters, two kinds, shucked and ready to go; a bowl of creamy seafood chowder, chicken-fried oyster nuggets, Caesar salad, fries, and lemon tart with salted lemon crema. He even recommended the Mailivoire Melon vino as a perfect pairing. BONUS: I was planning to pick up a bottle of bubbly at the LCBO…which is closed on Mondays. Malivoire it is!Can’t want to pick it up and dive in. I may have to open the package in my car and start the party right there on Queen Street. Thanxxx, Matthew (and Adam, for years of this level of excellence at one of my favourite spots).
